'Light in the Midst of Darkness' scheduled for March 2–9 at Temple Emanu-El

A three-part program, “Light in the Midst of Darkness,” highlighting resistance and resilience during the Holocaust, will be presented at Temple Emanu-El, in Providence, during the week of March 2–9, 2024. 

The program will include the Rhode Island premiere of the documentary film “Four Winters,” on March 2, about partisan resistance with discussion by the filmmaker. A communal song circle is scheduled for March 7. A concert by Duo Mantar will take place on March 9 focusing on the importance of a mandolin at Auschwitz. The program is sponsored by the Arts Emanu-El Committee. 

All events will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at  https://www.teprov.org/arts/lightinthemidstofdarkness.html by Wednesday, Feb. 28. Tickets purchased in advance for the entire series will be $32 for Temple members only. Individual tickets purchased in advance for the film and for the concert will be $20 for each event for Temple members and $25 for non-members. Tickets purchased at the door for the film and the concert will be $25 for Temple members and $30 for non-members.  For the Song Circle, a donation of $5 is suggested.
