Rabbi Gershon Myer Baron, 85

FORT LEE, N.J. – Rabbi Gershon Myer Baron passed away Jan. 23 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus, New Jersey. He was born in New Britain, Connecticut to the late Jacob and Shosha (Palofski) Baron.

Rabbi Baron attended the Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin and Mesivta Torah Vodaath Rabbinical Seminary. During his time at Mesivta Torah Vodaath, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After the war, he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston University.

Rabbi Baron is survived by his wife, G. Tamra Baron; his sister, Marion Pritsky of Natick, Massachusetts; his sons, Charles Baron and his wife Naomi of Cedarhurst, New York and Todd Baron and his wife Chana of Teaneck, New Jersey; and his grandchildren, Yael, Natan Yakov, Sarit, Avi, Gavriel, Eliav and Kobe.
