NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – Barry H. Field died Feb. 24 after a lengthy illness, battling Parkinson’s disease and cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kurt Weidman; they were together 29 years before being married two years ago. Born in Providence, a son of the late Paul and Hannah “Joy” (Goldberg) Field, he had lived in Saunderstown for 20 years, previously living in Boston.

Barry Field, attorney, started his law career in the entertainment industry, working for Motown and Polygram Records in Los Angeles, prior to establishing his own practice in Boston.  Most recently, he was a partner with his brothers in two Gold’s Gym franchises in Rhode Island. He was a GLAD Board President for 11 years and a DNC trustee. He was the loving owner of his dogs, Ziggy and Marley.  

He was the dear brother of Alan Field and his wife, Lynn, of West Greenwich and Michael Field and his wife, Sharon, of East Greenwich. He was the adored uncle UB of Amanda, Adam, Daniel, Rachel, Laura and several great-nieces and nephews.  He was the loving cousin of Frim, Maureen, Beth and Lisa.  He was the cherished former brother-in-law of Sheryl Moran.
